I have a CHL for a revolver. I recently purchased a semi-automatic. Can I carry the semi-automatic?

Attorney at Law

No. Not without getting a modification of your CHL. See §411.184. A CHL can be issued for (1) revolver only (NSA) or (2) semi-automatics and revolvers (SA).

If your CHL is restricted to NSA (revolvers) and you carry a semi-automatic, your revolver CHL may be suspended under §411.187. You may also be arrested for unauthorized carrying of a weapon because you don't have a license for the semi-automatic. See also §411.188(h).
